Jesus Christ, Our Eternal Security

When people think about security, these words come to mind: wealth, investments, financial stability, and achievements. But have you ever thought of the importance of eternal security? Let's face it. Most people don't pay attention or even think about it because they are focused on the cares of this world.

We, as Christians, believe that knowing our eternal security is possible even before we meet our physical death. That sets us free from fears and points us back to the One who redeemed and saved us, Jesus Christ. Through Him, we can fully embrace perfect peace and restoration to God's Kingdom.

The Scriptures remind us that He has always been with us, and He will never leave nor forsake us because of His deep and immeasurable love. Through His great display of love on the cross, we received a fresh start and new life in the Spirit. He made way for us to get to know Him in a personal way - to feel and experience Him. And most importantly, when we surrender our lives to Him, He sets us free from the bondage of sin and death.

None of us can boast about achieving eternal security by our strength, for we are saved only by His grace. Our good works cannot measure up to God's standards of righteousness. Ephesians 2:8–9 (NASB) says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Knowing this makes us humble and obedient to His will.

However, there are people who may lack knowledge, have rejected knowledge, or have forgotten His Word. Hosea 4:6 (NASB) says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.” It is essential for them to know the message of eternal security so that they will never have to live in uncertainty for the rest of their lives. A person who understands the love of God the Father through His Son will also receive His perfect peace, rest, and mercy.

Once you are saved, you will have a secured destiny. You may be thinking, “those are bold words to be uttering”. You are right about that. Those are really bold words. But these are words backed up by His Love, His Word, and by His Actions. When we come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, we have the guarantee that our salvation is eternally secured by His grace.
